IOPTIC’S COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

The IOPtic IOP Monitoring Device offers the high accuracy and ease-of-use of an implanted sensor with the advantage of having no implanted electronics, antenna, or power source, thereby greatly extending product life, reducing complexity / cost, and eliminating power source-related biocompatibility issues. This is accomplished using an implanted diaphragm sensor that is illuminated with an external infrared light source that can be handheld or integral with worn glasses. The reflected interference pattern from the implanted sensor changes as IOP changes to produce a calibration curve, enabling wireless transfer of the IOP reading for monitoring.
